We are literally flooded with tactics.
Every day, on every social media. 🤯
”My secret framework for converting emails.” 🤡
”The roadmap to a 100k email campaign.” 🤦🏻♀️
”How I made my clients MILLIONS with 3 strategic words.” 🤮
Do you think if that were true, they would give it away so easily?
It’s an action you take to create a particular outcome.
In this scenario, to acquire clients/make money.
Now, in the email marketing world, it is extremely common to see subject line collections, email frameworks, and email templates sold as a package, with the promise that they will work for you too.
They MIGHT work IF they align with your strategy.
Otherwise, it’s just a waste of time and money.
”But they say they made a lot of money with those tactics.”
Of course they say that, but most of the time it’s a lie.
And when it’s true, it’s because they had a clear strategy to begin with, and tailored their tactics to that.
In fact, nobody sells “strategy packages that made me a millionaire”.
”Strategy is the action plan that takes you where you want to go, and tactics are the individual steps and actions that will get you there.”
(source, Asana blog https://asana.com/resources/strategy-vs-tactics)
It takes YOU (not everyone) where YOU (as a unique individual) want to go.
It can’t be a common denominator, by definition.
Strategy is the most personal aspect of your business, and reducing it to just a bunch of tactics is the recipe for failure.
If you know exactly what you do, for whom, how and WHY, there is your strategy.
What would you write to someone you want to help, knowing their problems, lingo, and mindset?
🟢 THAT is your email.
I mean, would you ever write “I hope this email finds you well” to someone on purpose? 🫠
